Local Companies Excel in Customer Service

The downturn in the economy does have a silver lining. I was just at Belk's department store at SouthPark Mall in Charlotte, NC because of a huge sale on housewares and linens, and I was overwhelmed with the customer service I received. The sales associate bent over backwards to help me find what I needed and even carried my bags to the car! I swung by Harper's to Go on the way home and realized that a salad had not made it. I called and they immediately jumped in a car and drove 7 miles to bring it to me. Over the past year, I have witnessed locally owned businesses working hard to keep customer loyalty. Gracious attitudes and smiling faces are not hard to find especially at Dickens-Mitchener where we call making sure clients receive what they need and expect the Dickens-Mitchener Way and we have been at it for over 18 years.

CMS Staff Proposal To Relieve Crowding at Eastover Elementary

Hello again from your Eastover Elementary school connection. A CMS staff proposal to relieve crowding at Eastover has been released and it will be presented to the school board on Tuesday October 27th. The proposal recommends sending all of Myers Park that is currently zoned for Eastover to a new neighborhood school in Dilworth. All of Dilworth and a small portion of Selwyn would attend the new school as well. First Ward's attendance zone would be split and divided between Dilworth and Eastover and the existing magnet at Dilworth would be moved to First Ward. This would create two very strong schools with high levels of parental involvement.

Click here to download a copy of the proposal

Stay tuned for more as we get additional information.
